TDV Global consultants Brad Goble and James Dunlop were involved with supporting the 2nd Workshop of the Emerging Dangerous Pathogens Laboratory Network (EDPLN), held at WHO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, on behalf of Canada's Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).
The EDPLN is an informal network of BSL-4 and selected BSL-3 laboratories aimed at the enhancement of readiness and response to epidemics, by undertaking diagnostic functions and research activities and supporting regional centres and national laboratories in zones of disease emergence.
The workshop was intended to further operationalize the network through formalization of a network structure and governance strategy and the establishment of a network Secretariat and five key Working Groups.
